Preventative Cleanings
Adult dental cleanings are performed by your Registered Dental Hygienist. Your cleaning appointment will include a dental assessment, periodontal charting, personalized oral health instructions, removal of bacterial plaque, calculus (tarter), extrinsic stains, flossing and polishing.
Children's Cleanings
Children (12 and under) dental cleanings are performed by your Registered Dental Hygienist. Your cleaning appointment will include a dental assessment, demonstration of personalized oral heath instructions with plaque disclosing solution, removal of bacterial plaque, calculus (tarter), extrinsic stains, flossing and polishing.
Deep Cleanings
Scaling and root plaining (deep cleaning) is recommended to treat and prevent progression of periodontal disease and further bone loss. It is usually done one quadrant of the mouth at a time while the area is numb. In this procedure, calculus (tartar), plaque, and toxins are removed from above and below the gum line. Personalized oral heath instructions will be discussed along with the frequency of your periodontal maintenance cleanings.
Sealants
Sealants are a fast and easy way of protecting both primary and permanent teeth by acting as barriers to cavity-prone areas.
Fluoride Treatments
Professionally applied topical fluoride varnish is a great way to protect teeth and roots from decay and sensitivity for both children and adults.
Silver Diamine Fluoride
Silver Diamine Fluoride is a cost effective, non-invasive topical medication used to stop decay and prevent further destruction of tooth structure as well as relieve dentinal hypersensitivity.
Necessary x-rays
Digital X-rays taken with low radiation equipment by your hygienist to capture images of your teeth and supporting structures to help identify decay bone loss, and other abnormalities.
